On the banks of the river Bodrog, 5 kilometres away from Tokaj, lies Bodrogkeresztúr. This little settlement awaits its visitors with many opportunities to recreate.
One can take a boat-trip or go fishing on the river Bodrog, take a walk on its banks, or go bicycling on the dam, all the way long to Sárospatak. The mountain of Tokaj: the Kopasz (Bare mountain), and the southern hills of the Zemplén-mountains: the Messzelátó ( Farseeing), which is famous of its vineyards, the Várhegy (Castle Hill) and the Sajgó, offers great places for hiking. One can take a pleasant walk in the village too, where the local farmers' ever-open, friendly wine-cellars await the visitors, dropping in for a glass of wine. The Székely Fogadó (Székely Inn) is one accommodation in the village.
It was built on the side of the Dereszla Hill, in nice sorroundings, with a beautiful view of the country. In the yard, there is an ethnographical collection, where one may try to identify the tools of old times. Opposite to the Inn, a tennis court (with clay surface) is available for the guests. The whine-cellar of the building is always open for guests, there are cooking and barbecue facilities in the yard. The kitchen, and the dining-room - which is also suitable for conducting small conferences - is on the ground level of the Inn. The first level is the residential level, where 6 rooms open out of a spacious lounge. From the lounge, one can reach the tower level, where two rooms, and a terrace with a magnificent panorama can be found.
Each room - with a separate bathroom - has its unique accessories (memorials, photo's, books, brochures, relics), and is a tribute to the székely provinces.
The region itself, offers great opportunities too. Sárospatak with its castle, ancient temple, old college, Tokaj with its beautiful principal square, promenade and with its wine-cellars awaits the visitors. The castle of Szabolcs, the mines of Tarcal, the sugar works of Szerencs, as well as Mád, Tállya, Tolcsva and the Hegyköz: Füzér, Radvány, and Széphalom, Boldogkőváralja, with their natural and historical sights offer a good chance of recreation.
